Bayon Temple, Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia
The Story of "Ancient Smiles"
Bayon is one of the larger and more impressive temples in the Angkor Wat Archeological Park, though admittedly, I was impressed by nearly all of the temples we visited.
Each temple has a different identity, and Bayon is known as the temple of smiling faces. It is hard not to be affected by the energy created by hundreds of ancient stone faces smiling down on you as you explore this incredibly preserved piece of history.
Of course, every great photo starts with light, and this one would be one of my favorites because of that gorgeous golden light illuminating one of a hundred ancient smiles.
