Buckingham Palace, London, England
The Story of "At the Ready"
While I suspect more tradition than service at this point, a visit to Buckingham Palace is a must for any first-timer in London, and its good to see that some traditions remain entrenched in the day-to-day goings on at Buckingham.
Sworn to sacred oath, these guards stand as still as statues in between stints of rigged paces intended, I believe, to keep the blood circulating.
This photo was taken on my first visit to London with my long-time girlfriend and fellow photographer, Sophie Clapton. While landscape photography is my primary joy, it was a nice challenge to explore the city in search of still-frames that capture the essence of London and its many traditions.
