Mt Shasta, California
The Story of "Follow the Rails"
Perhaps you are getting sick of this view by now, but I never did! While awaiting our night shoot here, I had to make use of the brilliant golden hour lighting we were treated to that put Mt Shasta on an absolute pedestal.
A keen observer may be wondering why the mountain looks so much larger here than in the other photo. The reason for that is I was shooting at a much more zoomed focal distance, which compresses the background to fill more of the frame. I felt that the true scale of the large mountainscape I wanted to capture was best represented a deep zoom, but needed the wide angle for my Milky Way later.
For those of you who just came here to see some pretty photos, I hope this one makes the cut!
